What do you want to explore?
Are you a foreigner?
Are you an alien? Do you chase the thrill of being a foreigner? Some say the displacement, anxiety and disorientation of exile can be a welcome tonic to the banality of home. As a foreigner you can reinvent yourself. You won’t be judged by your class, education, work, family or accent. But is choosing foreignness an act of disloyalty to one’s native country?
This conversation will explore the dilemma of foreignness – the pleasures of freedom versus the pleasures of belonging.
How healthy are you?
Is the pursuit of health about quinoa, fear of death, or a desire for achievement? To some of us, health is invisible. To others, health is everything. How do people come to see health so differently? How does your perception change your choices in life?
This conversation is a chance to challenge and expand your relationship to your health.
Are you a public or private person?
When do you have true moments of privacy? Social media compels us to post, tweet and share everything from our lives. Our phones make us available 24/7. Have we forgotten the virtues of a private life? And are we consciously making these choices for ourselves?
This conversation will examine the forces that influence our privacy and the implications of a world without solitude.
